MR Sport has been appointed Secretariat to the UK Parliament’s American Football Group.
The appointment means MR Sport now supports similar Groups in golf, rowing and rugby league with a model that welcomes non-Parliamentary members, charitable fundraising and greater interaction with fans of the game.
The announcement was made by the Group’s Chairman, MP for Wellingborough Peter Bone. He said “I am very pleased we have secured the services of MR Sport. I have seen what they have done in other sports to enable Members of Parliament to understand better where they can help in promoting a sport or raising and tackling issues it may face.
“From a standing start over the summer, they have whipped the Group into shape ready for the start of the season and I am looking forward to meeting fans and stakeholders in the game to ensure American football continues its growth in the UK.”
MR Sport is led by Mark Ramsdale who said on the announcement “I’m very pleased we can support the American Football Group. The model we have in place enables Members of Parliament to hear from fans, clubs, governing bodies and myriad others who work in and support the sport and as the sport continues to grow, the role of the Parliamentary American Football Group will be vital. We’re honoured to play our part.”
