MR Sport has announced the advocacy agency is to work with sports research and governance expert Callum Irving.
A specialist in data-driven insight, Irving has been responsible for the oversight and implementation of programmes and structures within the likes of the Football Association and Sport England. Irving currently holds roles in soccer in China and has a client base of sporting NGBs and commercial bodies with interest in a rage of sports.
A former professional player and having held positions in rugby league, the joint endeavour’s first collaboration is in rugby league, with Irving taking up the role of Secretariat to the UK Parliament’s All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group.
MR Sport Managing Director Mark Ramsdale made the announcement, saying “I’ve known Callum since we were on the board of Oxford Rugby League football club and I’ve always been very impressed with his analytical skills and track record of implementing structures and programmes in sporting bodies based on evidence. I am looking forward to working with Callum again and as I look to the future, I think there’s huge potential for us in our respective areas of expertise.”
On the announcement, Callum Irving said “Mark’s reputation for supporting sport in Westminster is outstanding. I’ve seen what he’s delivered across many sports – including that of rugby league – and with the plans we are working on, I am very much looking towards the future and supporting sport even more.”
